Service Description
This currently 'hot' unique paper class teaches an Asian technique, called Joomchi, Joomchi is the traditional Korean method of creating a textured paper medium that can be used for jewelry (great for this class!), vessels, book covers, collage, or as a specialty fiber arts medium to stitch into. Layers of hanji (mulberry paper) are fused or ‘felted’ together with water by rubbing, squeezing and agitating with your hands. This causes the fibers in the paper to tangle and adhere firmly to each other to create a single sheet of beautiful, strong, lightweight Joomchi. This is a class for students of all levels and is not a paper-making class. There is a $10 supply fee for hanji paper payable to the teacher at the time of class
