Jahireen's approach to sewing is more like sculpture, less like structure. They call it "free styling". A New Orleans native, Jahireen is self taught, hoards sewing books, is known to go straight to YouTube tutorials when they hit a sewing roadblock. Jahireen is a student of construction by comparison. They study both high end and popularly priced garments to learn construction details. Jahireen is enticed by burlesque fashion, inspired by old Hollywood glamour, and is known for heavily embellished statement ware.
